Da denke ich gleich an die Kritik für Bismarcks Memorien. Wer schreibt schon Schlechtes über sich selbst?
Mit dem "wollte weiterkämpfen" meint ich eher, eine Fortsetzung des Kriegs bis zur "bedingungslosen Kapitulation".
