Was sind die europäischen Werte?


Wenn man sich die Frage einmal in aller Konsequenz stellt, dann kommt man nicht umhin, all diese Werte sind letztlich nur geäußerte Sätze, Bilder, Vorstellungen und Ideen, die durch die abendländische Literatur, Philosophie, Ethik und Kunst hervorgebracht wurden. All diese Feinheiten und Werte sind letztlich universell. Sie wurden in Asien und woanders auch gedacht.

Nichts an diesen europäischen Werten ist wertvoll, wenn der einzelne Mensch nicht davon berührt ist. Ob Tolstoi, Goethe, Stendhal, Dante Alighieri etc. ... es sind Werke von Menschen, die diese Werte geschaffen haben. Und diese Werke sind universell ...

Weder ein herbeigeredeter noch ein eingebildeter Kulturzerfall hat damit etwas zu tun.

Europa ... unser Kontinent. Seine Vielfalt war seine Stärke und ob es noch heute so ist, wird sich herausstellen. Zumindest sind wir es, die sich einem Buch, einem Kunstwerk oder einem musikalischen Werk annähern müssen. Bleiben wir den Dingen treu, so werden sie auch nicht verschwinden. Achten wir nicht darauf, so haben wir auch keinen Zugang zu den universellen Werten.

Lassen wir uns nicht ins Bockshorn jagen von jenen, die uns sagen wollen, was unsere Werte sind. Weder von denen, die uns eine multikulturelle Wertigkeit oder eine isolierte Wertigkeit als das Ei des Kolumbus verkaufen wollen.

Die Werte Europas sind die, die es historisch teilt durch alle Kulturen: die Errungenschaften der Antike, verbeitet und weiterentwickelt über die Klöster, der christliche Glaube und der daraus entstehende wohlstandschaffende und freiheitsschaffende Kapitalismus. Selbstverständlich auch der freie Handel mit seinem Kulturaustausch.

In diesem Fall sehe ich die "isolierte Wertigkeit", wie Du das nennst, sehr wohl als das Ei des Kolumbus. Europa muß christlich und weiß sein, sonst ist es nicht mehr Europa. Dann können wir uns Großbuntländer nennen.
